Meet the Staff
Donnell and Marianne Jones
Born and raised in Washington, DC, Donnell has a true heart for this city and its people. He came to know Jesus as his Savior at the age of 8 after watching CS Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia. It was not until his young adult years, however, that he discovered what it meant to allow Jesus to be both Savior and Lord. Throughout high school, Donnell often pondered the purpose of his existence. The answer came in his early 20’s at a church conference when an invitation was given to truly dedicate his life to serving Christ. What he didn’t know at that time was that the decision he was making would eventually lead him to turn away from his own plans to become a lawyer and into a life of full-time ministry. As the head pastor of Grace Covenant Church, he considers it a privilege to teach and equip God’s people for works of service. He desires to instruct and inspire people to serve the purpose for which they were born and in the process, influence and win this city for God.
Family life is of great importance to Donnell. He and his wife, Marianne, serve the GCC family side by side, counseling, discipling and leading small groups. Together they have 5 children and 1 grandchild.
Darryl and JoAnn Morrison
Growing up in Arizona, Darryl's greatest desire as a child was simple, to be successful. After graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in psychology, his dreams appeared to be coming true when he was drafted to the Washington Redskins in the 1993 NFL draft. Despite the signs of success all around him, he sensed a void in his life. During his first year on the team, Darryl surrendered his life to Christ during a Bible study with the Redskins' chaplain. In 1996, a neck injury abruptly ended his football career. He spent the next few years working in the corporate world in human resources before again surrendering his life. This surrender led him into full time ministry. As the associate pastor at Grace Covenant Church, one of his greatest giftings is in the area of building relationships. It is often his smiling face that greets you and brings exhortation during our Sunday worship services. When he preaches, he preaches from the heart using real life examples that will move you both to laughter and to tears.
Darryl and his wife JoAnn met in high school at the age of 17 and married shortly thereafter in 1993. They have 5 children of whom they are extremely proud. Darryl and JoAnn serve the church together building relationships, leading small groups, counseling, teaching Foundations classes and overseaing Grace Covenant's Campus Ministry.
Vincent and Cecile Dinh
Born in Vietnam, raised in both Manila and Hong Kong, Vincent eventually moved to the US as a political refugee. He describes himeslf as a typical Asian kid raised to pursue academic excellence. Destined, or so it seemed, to follow his father's steps into international banking, he quickly discovered that he could not find the fulfillment his heart desired through the pursuit of material wealth. He was looking for life in all of the wrong places when he encountered the teachings of Jesus through some Christian friends in college. During a Bible study his conversion came about after a realization that "this Jesus was not just a philosopher but the Savior of all men!" Fourteen years later, while working in the IT field, an opportunity to assist in church planting and non-profit work in Vietnam beckoned him to relocate back to Asia for seven years.
It was during his time in Asia that he met Cecile who came to Vietnam on a missions trip. Her love for people, a rare level of gentleness, and later on her cooking skill were all confirmation that he had married the right woman! A year after they married, they returned to Washington, DC. Along with their full time jobs in IT, they both serve in the ministry of Grace Covenant Church. As one of two associate pastors, Vincent enjoys the process of developing teams and managing processes as it relates to Sunday morning services. He also manage the missions department with focus on a local Bhutanese community outreach and organizing short-term TenDays missions teams. Cecile is part of the leadership team that is oversees the Life Changers Groups with the primary focus of discipleship.
